Ottavio and Rosita, my parents, invented a style, which is for me like a language. And the work I have done throughout these past 20 years is to update the lexicon of their vocabulary to keep it contemporary and always “up to date”.JUMP ON A PLANE EVERY WEEKEND
I am very lucky to live and work in a beautiful place, but I am a very curious woman and even on a daily basis, if I cannot I jump on a plane and go to discover new places, I like to turn the corner of a street that I had never seen before. I prefer to travel light -..well, at least leave for my journey with light luggage… because I always come back with my bags heavy and filled with tokens from my travels!HAVE TEAM SPIRIT WITH YOUR MOTHER AND DAUGHTERS
I was very lucky to have an amazing group of strong women in my family, like my great grandmother, my grandmother and of course my mother. They were very strong, very entrepreneurial, and all in a position of equality with their men. They were fantastic examples for a young girl like me and I hope that I could be an example for other generations to come, because young women still need strong and positive role model.PULL UP YOUR CREATIVITY
Creativity can be hidden everywhere, it can be anything: a carpet that you are walking on, a movie, a label on a toothpaste at the supermarket…
When I think about the fact that I live in this beautiful and enchanting house, in the middle of the country, in direct contact with nature, and with the beautiful view on the mountains, I know I cannot live without it. One of the biggest gifts I received from my parents is to to make me live in the country, in this amazing place. They chose to build their headquarters, their atelier and their factories in a place they knew they would have loved to live in. As much as you have to work in life, better to work in a place where you would like to spend your weekends.ZIGZAG BETWEEN COLORS
Even if zigzag starts with a “Z”, it is the first word of the Missoni vocabulary. One that I try to update season after season.SHAPE UP INCREDIBLE STYLES
Last weekend I was on a beach, and the only thing I could find to collect were shells, so I made a necklace out of them. Sometimes people ask me if I am an art collector. Honestly, no, I am not. Art collector is a full time job, but I am considering myself as a full-time collector of… bambis!SHAKE THE RIGHT HANDS
My kids say that I am a compulsive collector, and perhaps I am, but in fact collecting is in my nature. My collections can start from everything. I love flea markets and tiny undiscovered shops… But I don’t collect items for the sole sake of collecting – it’s a way of creating stories, a way of giving love and a second life to forgotten objects, a way of recycling!
